The two stones date back to 14th century
A team of Salem Historical Research Centre (SHRC) have identified what it claimed two hero stones dating back to 14th century at Deviyakurichi village near Thalaivasal.
On an information provided by the students of Government Arts College, Attur, a team led by Aragalur Pon Venkatesan, president of the SHRC, conducted a study in the area recently.
The members found a couple of stone sculptures in a farm land at Therkkumedu area in the village.
One stone depicted a hero belonging to Vanakovaraiyar dynasty, which ruled Magadha area with Aragalur as headquarters. The warrior was found to be clad with ornaments worn during the times of wars.
